Cursive font generator: light script and bold script

This is a free cursive font generator in the strict sense: it does not make a font file. It swaps each letter for the matching character in Unicode’s Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, where the standard defines a script alphabet and a bold script alphabet. Because the result is ordinary text, it survives copy and paste into any app, and it needs no download and no sign-up.

Cursive Script is the light one, with thin flowing strokes that suit bios and captions. Bold Script is the heavier one, with the same letterforms at a weight that stays readable at small sizes on a phone. Eleven of the light script letters (ℬ ℰ ℱ ℋ ℐ ℒ ℳ ℛ ℯ ℊ ℴ) predate the block and live in Letterlike Symbols; they render identically and copy the same way.

Questions about the online cursive text generator

How do I make my text cursive?

Type or paste into the box at the top of this page. The two cursive outputs update as you type. Press Copy under the one you want, then paste it into your bio, caption or message. Nothing is uploaded; the conversion runs in your browser.

Does the cursive text generator do numbers?

No, and neither does any other. Unicode defines cursive letters but no cursive digits, so 0–9 pass through unchanged, and so do punctuation and emoji. The glyph map above shows exactly which characters change.

Can I use cursive text in my Instagram or TikTok username?

In your display name, bio and captions, yes. In the @handle itself, no: Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord all restrict handles to plain letters, numbers, underscores and periods. Paste cursive text into the name field instead.

Is there a bold cursive text generator?

Yes, the second output on this page is Bold Script, which uses the heavier Mathematical Bold Script letters from the same Unicode block. It reads better than the light script at small sizes on phones.

Why does cursive text show as boxes for some people?

Every phone and desktop released in the last decade ships fonts that cover these characters. Boxes appear on very old devices or in apps that use a restricted font. Keep anything important, such as links and legal text, in normal letters.

Can I add a heart or emoji to cursive text?

Yes. Emoji are not converted, so type them where you want them and they stay in place next to the cursive letters. The copied text keeps them.
